Sarahbell & Princess Stella
About
Sarahbell Kleinman grew up in Washington State riding and showing at local 4-H and rodeos. At the age of 14, she was hired as a groom at Alfasaga Farms, where she fell in love with Icelandic horses. After graduating high school, she moved to Iceland to work at Gauksmyri Farm riding and training these unique horses.
While horses remained her passion, she came back to the states to attain her undergraduate degree from UCLA. While studying, she found opportunities in San Diego to teach riding lessons at Sunland Ranch, an Icelandic farm, on the weekends. After graduation, she moved to the area to ride and teach full time. A client introduced Sarahbell to Elizabeth Ball, and while working for her as a groom, she fell in love with dressage. From that point on, she knew she was hooked!
She then went on to work with Sue Blinks as her full-time show groom. While working for Sue, she learned the ins and outs of Olympic level stable management and equine care. She was also able to train her rescued appaloosa Spock with Sue and taker her first steps in the dressage show arena. Sarahbell then went on to work for Rebecca Rigdon and David Blake. She started as a groom but was offered many opportunities to grow and learn as a rider at home and in the show ring. During this time, she was also able to lease a Belgian Warmblood, Shotzy, and train with Laurie Falvo at Dove Hollow. Her time with Shotzy was a gift, and the pair were able to show through the Prix St. George before deciding to retire Shotzy from the show ring.
In 2016 Sarahbell decided to move to Los Angeles to be with her now husband and took a riding position with Mette Rosencrantz. While working with Mette she had the opportunity to ride and teach in addition to daily grooming and management of the horses.
In May of 2017, Sarahbell joined Kristina Harrison Dressage as assistant trainer. While working with Kristina she honed in on her teaching style and polish her riding skills!
In August of 2021, she began SBK Dressage at Hillside Farms. Sarahbell is excited to take all of her experience and build a barn where she and her clients can enjoy the sport of dressage and continue to learn and grow in the future!
